"As volunteers, our job there was to show the children some love and tenderness, and make their time there a little more pleasant. This was done in many ways (always with lots of hugs!), by talking to them, playing games, having classes such as basic English, maths etc The fulfilment you get is indescribable. It was amazing to see these kid's faces light up every time you walked in the room."

I have made it back to NYC safe and sound as of this past Thursday. In total, my experience in Cusco and the Jungle volunteer program was absolutely amazing. It was a totally different world and I learned and absorbed so much. It was simply the best time.

Everyone at Maximo Nivel including my host family in Santa Monica were truly exceptional. I will always remember their warmth and kindness extended to me. I hope to be able to return to the jungle soon; although my stay was short, my memories and feelings will stay with me forever.
